Hoya Sigillatis Silver Cutting or rooted starter
Cuttings: These are single leaf and node cuttings and are not rooted. Occasionally, we include an extra cutting as a bonus—just for you! 😊
Starter Plants: Sizes may vary, but we always do our best to send you the healthiest and most beautiful plant available, based on its current growth, size, leaf shape, and variegation. This would be at least 1 stem with at least 4 leaves.
Hoya sigillatis ‘Silver’ is a trailing or climbing hoya with long, narrow leaves heavily splashed in silver, often flushing purple or bronzy under strong light. Its thin but slightly succulent leaves and vining habit make it perfect for hanging baskets or small trellises. 🌿
Light ☀️
Best in bright, indirect light; a few hours of soft morning sun is great, but avoid harsh afternoon rays that can scorch leaves.
Stronger light brings out more silver speckling and purple tones, while low light makes growth slower and leaves less colorful.
Watering 💧
Let the top half (or more) of the potting mix dry before watering; the roots dislike sitting in constantly wet soil.
Water thoroughly until it drains out the bottom, then empty any saucer so the plant is never left in standing water.
Soil and pot 🪴
Use a very well‑draining, chunky mix—something like high‑quality potting soil mixed with orchid bark, perlite, and a bit of charcoal is ideal.
Choose a pot with good drainage; slightly snug pots are usually better than oversized ones for hoyas.
Temperature and humidity 🌡️
Prefers typical indoor warmth, roughly mid‑60s to low‑80s °F (around 18–27 °C), and should be protected from cold drafts.
Moderate humidity is fine, but higher humidity often encourages faster vining and fuller growth.
Feeding and growth 🌱
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer every few weeks to support new leaves and vines.
It grows as a trailing or climbing plant; you can let it cascade or provide a small trellis or hoop for a fuller look.
Flowers 🌸
Like other hoyas, it can produce clusters of waxy flowers once mature and happy, often needing stable conditions and good light to bloom.
Avoid cutting off long, bare spurs after it blooms, since those same points can rebloom in future seasons.
‼️ Important Info for All Plant Cuttings ‼️
After your purchase, please take a moment to read the note from me that includes tips and tricks for propagating your cutting successfully! While it’s rare, shipping stress can sometimes affect cuttings. If you notice any issues upon arrival, please reach out within 48 hours of delivery. I'm happy to offer a refund, replacement, or coupon if there's a problem — but I can only help if I hear from you within that window!
🌿 Normal Shipping Stress
It's completely normal for cuttings to show signs of stress such as wilting, yellowing, or browning during transit. This doesn't mean the cutting is dead — as long as the node is healthy, the cutting is still viable and has the potential to root and grow.
📦 Shipping & Weather Notes
All cuttings are shipped via USPS Standard Shipping. If you’d like a quicker option, please select Priority Shipping at checkout.
If temperatures in your area are expected to drop below 50°F (10°C), I strongly recommend adding a heat pack to your order (available in the shop or as a shipping upgrade). This helps protect your cutting during transit and reduces the risk of cold damage.
🌡️ Weather & Delivery
Please keep an eye on the weather in your area. I do my best to pack your plants with care, but I’m not able to control USPS delays, weather-related issues, or delivery errors. If there’s a delivery problem, you can contact USPS directly — but I’m always happy to help where I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
