🌿 Hoya Rosita Care & Info Guide
✨ Overview
Hoya Rosita is a stunning hybrid between Hoya wayetii and Hoya tsangii, loved for its long, narrow, and slightly curved leaves with deep green centers and red-tinged edges. When grown in bright light, the leaf margins turn a beautiful rosy bronze, giving this plant its elegant name — Rosita. It also produces clusters of sweetly scented, star-shaped flowers, making it a must-have for Hoya collectors and plant lovers alike.
☀️ Light
Hoya Rosita thrives in bright, indirect light.
More light = richer red tones in the leaves.
Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.
Can tolerate lower light but will grow slower and bloom less frequently.
💧 Watering
Let the soil dry out between waterings.
Water thoroughly when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry.
Avoid overwatering — Hoyas prefer a bit of neglect over soggy roots.
Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent root rot.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C)
Avoid cold drafts or temps below 55°F.
Prefers medium to high humidity (60%+), but adapts well to average household humidity.
💨 Tip: A small humidifier or pebble tray can help boost humidity and encourage flowering.
🌱 Soil
Use a well-draining mix such as:
Orchid bark + perlite + coco coir or peat.
Avoid compact, water-retaining soil.
Hoyas love airy roots — think of them as semi-epiphytes that like to “breathe.”
🌸 Fertilizer
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced or orchid fertilizer.
Stop feeding in winter when growth slows.
A high-phosphorus fertilizer can encourage blooms.
✂️ Pruning & Training
Trim leggy vines to promote bushier growth.
Avoid cutting off old bloom spurs — Hoyas flower from the same spot again!
Allow it to climb or trail from a hanging pot or trellis.

‼️ Important Info for All Plant Cuttings ‼️
After your purchase, please take a moment to read the note from me that includes tips and tricks for propagating your cutting successfully! While it’s rare, shipping stress can sometimes affect cuttings. If you notice any issues upon arrival, please reach out within 48 hours of delivery. I'm happy to offer a refund, replacement, or coupon if there's a problem — but I can only help if I hear from you within that window!
🌿 Normal Shipping Stress
It's completely normal for cuttings to show signs of stress such as wilting, yellowing, or browning during transit. This doesn't mean the cutting is dead — as long as the node is healthy, the cutting is still viable and has the potential to root and grow.
📦 Shipping & Weather Notes
All cuttings are shipped via USPS Standard Shipping. If you’d like a quicker option, please select Priority Shipping at checkout.
If temperatures in your area are expected to drop below 50°F (10°C), I strongly recommend adding a heat pack to your order (available in the shop or as a shipping upgrade). This helps protect your cutting during transit and reduces the risk of cold damage.
🌡️ Weather & Delivery
Please keep an eye on the weather in your area. I do my best to pack your plants with care, but I’m not able to control USPS delays, weather-related issues, or delivery errors. If there’s a delivery problem, you can contact USPS directly — but I’m always happy to help where I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
