Princess Hoya carnosa ‘Krimson Princess’ is a variegated wax plant prized for its creamy white to pink centers and dark green leaf edges, creating a bold, bicolor look on each thick, semi-succulent leaf. It is a vining epiphyte that can be grown as a trailing plant in hanging baskets or trained to climb, and it produces fragrant clusters of star-shaped pink flowers when mature and well cared for.
Appearance
Leaves are thick, waxy, and evergreen with cream to soft pink variegation in the center and green margins, intensifying with brighter indirect light.
Stems are often pinkish and produce long vines that can reach several feet indoors, giving a lush trailing or climbing habit.
Light and temperature
Prefers bright, indirect light; too little light causes variegation to fade, while strong direct sun can scorch the pale areas.
Thrives in typical indoor temperatures around 65–80°F and is hardy outdoors only in very warm climates (about USDA zones 10–11).
Water and soil
Semi-succulent leaves store water, so it prefers to dry out slightly between waterings rather than sit in consistently wet soil.
Grows best in a loose, well-draining mix such as potting soil amended with perlite and bark, which reduces the risk of root rot.
Growth and blooms
Growth is generally slow to moderate, with vines potentially reaching several feet in length indoors under good conditions.
Mature plants can produce spherical clusters of waxy, sweetly scented pink flowers from spring through the warmer months, often after a few years of growth.
Care tips
Keep it slightly root-bound and avoid frequent repotting, which can help encourage flowering over time.
Provide consistent bright indirect light, careful watering, and light feeding in the growing season to maintain strong variegation and support blooming

‼️ Important Info for All Plant Cuttings ‼️
After your purchase, please take a moment to read the note from me that includes tips and tricks for propagating your cutting successfully! While it’s rare, shipping stress can sometimes affect cuttings. If you notice any issues upon arrival, please reach out within 48 hours of delivery. I'm happy to offer a refund, replacement, or coupon if there's a problem — but I can only help if I hear from you within that window!
🌿 Normal Shipping Stress
It's completely normal for cuttings to show signs of stress such as wilting, yellowing, or browning during transit. This doesn't mean the cutting is dead — as long as the node is healthy, the cutting is still viable and has the potential to root and grow.
📦 Shipping & Weather Notes
All cuttings are shipped via USPS Standard Shipping. If you’d like a quicker option, please select Priority Shipping at checkout.
If temperatures in your area are expected to drop below 50°F (10°C), I strongly recommend adding a heat pack to your order (available in the shop or as a shipping upgrade). This helps protect your cutting during transit and reduces the risk of cold damage.
🌡️ Weather & Delivery
Please keep an eye on the weather in your area. I do my best to pack your plants with care, but I’m not able to control USPS delays, weather-related issues, or delivery errors. If there’s a delivery problem, you can contact USPS directly — but I’m always happy to help where I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
