Hoya Obovata 🌱💚
Hoya Obovata is a beloved trailing or climbing houseplant known for its thick, round, splashy leaves and sweetly fragrant star-shaped blooms. 🌸 Its succulent-like leaves make it super forgiving, and it’s perfect for both new plant parents and seasoned Hoya collectors. This plant grows steadily and becomes more beautiful each year, whether you let it cascade or climb.
🌿 Care Info
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is best. Can handle some gentle morning sun. Too little light = slow growth and fewer blooms.
💧 Water
Let the soil dry almost fully between waterings. Its thick leaves store water, so it’s better to underwater than overwater. Avoid soggy soil.
🌡️ Temperature
Thrives in 65–85°F. Keep away from cold drafts.
💦 Humidity
Enjoys 40–70% humidity, but adapts to average home humidity. Higher humidity encourages faster growth and blooms.
🌱 Soil
Use a chunky, fast-draining mix: orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, etc. Hoyas like airflow around their roots.
🍽️ Feeding
Fertilize monthly during spring and summer with a gentle balanced or bloom-boosting fertilizer.
🪴 Growth Habit
Can trail or climb. Give it a trellis or let it cascade. Slow to moderate grower.
‼️ Important Info for All Plant Cuttings ‼️
After your purchase, please take a moment to read the note from me that includes tips and tricks for propagating your cutting successfully! While it’s rare, shipping stress can sometimes affect cuttings. If you notice any issues upon arrival, please reach out within 48 hours of delivery. I'm happy to offer a refund, replacement, or coupon if there's a problem — but I can only help if I hear from you within that window!
🌿 Normal Shipping Stress
It's completely normal for cuttings to show signs of stress such as wilting, yellowing, or browning during transit. This doesn't mean the cutting is dead — as long as the node is healthy, the cutting is still viable and has the potential to root and grow.
📦 Shipping & Weather Notes
All cuttings are shipped via USPS Standard Shipping. If you’d like a quicker option, please select Priority Shipping at checkout.
If temperatures in your area are expected to drop below 50°F (10°C), I strongly recommend adding a heat pack to your order (available in the shop or as a shipping upgrade). This helps protect your cutting during transit and reduces the risk of cold damage.
🌡️ Weather & Delivery
Please keep an eye on the weather in your area. I do my best to pack your plants with care, but I’m not able to control USPS delays, weather-related issues, or delivery errors. If there’s a delivery problem, you can contact USPS directly — but I’m always happy to help where I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
